ARIIX Announces New VP of Marketing

A native of Hong Kong with big vision, passion for travel, and an impressive list of international marketing success stories, Chung will oversee all marketing initiatives and brand development from the company’s Utah headquarters.

Chung brings to the ARIIX executive team exceptional global experience in marketing and business, a passion for connecting with communities around the world, and a desire to help others realize their greatest potential. In the last 10 years of her career, she and her teams have received numerous prestigious awards, most recently a Gold Stevie (International) Award for Marketing Department of the Year.

“My goal is to enhance the overall brand experience for everyone, both internally and externally, at ARIIX,” says Chung. “I want everyone at ARIIX to be so proud of our brand and products that no matter what position they hold in our company, they know they are part of something truly great.”

Growing up in Hong Kong, Chung was exposed from an early age to many cultures, igniting her love of travel. At age six she took her first trip to Japan, and by the time she was 20 she had been to 30 different countries around the world. This strong global presence gave her exceptional experiences, connections, and a maturity beyond her years.

“Traveling really helps a person embrace their creativity and develop strong problem solving skills,” says Chung. “Everywhere you go it’s a new place, currency, language, transportation, and you have to figure out pretty quickly how everything works. These experiences still play a big part in shaping my professional life as well.”

Chung received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English, followed by a Master’s of Science, developing her talent for defining and sharing stories that make a difference, combined with an analytical way of approaching and solving problems.

Starting out at a creative agency in Hong Kong, Chung was quickly recognized for her innovative tactics and strategies for marketing and brand management. Later she was recruited by Hearst Magazine International as their youngest Advertising Manager in the company’s history. There she worked with internationally renowned organizations including Dior, Gucci, L’occitane, and Escada, where many people told her she had the “dream job.”

During a birthday trip to Morocco, however, Chung had an experience that changed the direction of her life.

“Watching the sunrise over the Sahara, I was approached by a group of children who tried to get in my pockets,” says Chung. “I thought they wanted money, but they just wanted candy. I watched them, thinking how such a simple thing was all they needed to bring them joy. And for the rest of that trip, my eyes were opened to see many people who didn’t have much by worldly standards but were content. I thought a lot during that trip about what is truly important and needed to enjoy and be content with life.”

“Back in Hong Kong, I saw people returning from glamorous vacations, people who had a lot of possessions. And they weren’t happy. And I realized that what I really wanted in life was to do something that I could feel proud of and that contributed to helping raise the quality of life for others.”

Chung’s responsibilities will include leading marketing initiatives from concept phase to implementation, creating launch timelines and marketing plans for new products, and overseeing day-to-day marketing efforts including project management, creative development, video production, brand strategy and promotion, global event branding, and internal and external communication as necessary.
